Cherry
blossom time right now in New Zealand as seen in our local park where
the trees are planted around the traditional Asian red bridge. Makes me
nostalgic for Japan and the lovely Hanami festivals I enjoyed there. I
do miss that ancient culture and its history and mythology, so colourful
and amazingly spiritual.
Welcome
to you new readers, you 176 keen historical readers who've signed
permission at the recent historical fiction Booksweeps competition.
Thank you. Be assured that, like most of my readers, I'm too busy to
pepper you with emails. Once a month, on the 6th, I'll send you a
newsletter with offers of free and bargain - mainly historical - books. I
don't push my own books or yell BUY, but hope that some of you are
happy to Beta read for me or take a free A(dvance) R(eading) C(opy) and
leave a comment on social media. If you like to know personal author
details, check me out at my websites: www.pdrlindsay.co.nz, and find my
books at www.books.pdrlindsay.co.nz.
There's a link to a free short story at the end of this newsletter as a gift to you all.
And thank you to those who sent good wishes for my operation. The new shoulder joint is in and beginning to work.
Usual warning: Watch out for that deadline.

I've
been reading old favourites and haven't found a new, straight
historical novel in the library new books section. Everything new and
historical seems to be gothically weird or crosses into fantasy with
some sort of magic. Hopefully I'll find something in the selection here.
