OCTOBER NEWSLETTER Unbelievable as it sounds to those of you who know the North American Prairies and how little rain they get every year, my family in Saskatchewan had floods - unheard of! They had fun watching the outpouring (sorry!) of frogs, toads, and salamanders flooding (more puns!) their decks and verandah during the rains. When the sun came out so did myriads of fungi and they rushed out with cameras. My daughter sent me this photograph. Those of you who had a soft spot for fairy tales will agree that the picture just lacks an elfin figure to make it perfect. Oh the frustration of launching my new book without a launch budget to promote it. If any of you had managed to get a copy of 'The Ballad of Ronan McCoy ' by Colin Morgan which is rapidly becoming a best seller - and rightly so - then Adam's Tale is in a similar vein. I am old and cynical but I certainly wept at the end of 'The Ballad of Ronan McCoy.' It is an emotional story in the best kind of way. So is 'Adam's Tale'. More deadlines this month and an interesting event from author colleagues, an online virtual children's book fair. It's number 35 and please do let me know if you think it's a workable idea. I'd love to do it with some historical colleagues. Watch the bookfunnel authors' offers as many of them are not given a deadline and close when they have enough sales or email addresses. That's a fact I cannot do anything about. My apologies. URGENT DEADLINES again this month WATCH FOR numbers 30 and 31, with 34, and 37, and 25 and 24 with 19 and 21 dates 10th, 16th, 20th and 23rd URGENT DEADLINES HERE'S YOUR OCTOBER BASKET OF ENTERTAINING READS HISTORICAL FICTION 1 History, Memoir And Time Travel 34 BARGAINS 2 Sail into the Past 30 BARGAINS 3 Historical Stories 25 FREE books 4 Tickets to Another Time 12 FREE books 5 Travel into the Past with Great Historical Fiction 12 FREE books 6 Life as you've never know it 59 BARGAINS 7 Historical and Mystery and Romance Tales 66 FREE novels Alas mainly romance! 8 Bargain historicals 10 books SPECIAL Offer of $3.99 Single Books 9 Senlac by Julian de la Motte A two-part historical novel that brings to life the turbulent period leading to the Norman conquest of England in 1066 10 The Sons Of Carthage by Alistaire Tosh The first book in the Lion and the Eagle Roman Thrillers series: action-packed, authentic historical military adventures set in Ancient Rome. 11 Guarding What Remains.
