April brings the cherry blossom. It's such a joyous time in Japan, a spiritual renewal in their religious calendar, and means the end of those fiercely cold and difficult winters. Spring is here and life continues, and they enjoy the cherry blossom viewing parties and write brief poems to the fleeting beauty of the blossom, their lives and their world.
In our upside down world I'm launched into autumn and crunching all those beautiful coloured leaves underfoot. You northern hemisphere folk are looking forward to the summer sun and we, down south, are anticipating a winter with more of these destructive rain storms. In a world which seems to be going crazily off kilter I hope you find a book in this list to escape into and give you some relief. Reading is such a sanity saver. Stay safe everyone.
